"Let choice whisper in your ear, and love murmur in your heart. Be ready...here comes life" - Maya Angelou
What is a birth doula?
"A doula is a trained professional who provides continuous physical, emotional and informational support to a mother before, during and shortly after childbirth to help her achieve the healthiest, most satisfying experience possible." (DONA International)
Every birth is a journey, and your doula is there to ensure that you arrive at the destination having traveled your way, participating fully, filled with confidence and serenity.
Birth has always been a time of collective support and collaborative effort, requiring emotional and non-clinical assistance toward a positive birth experience. A doula's role is to provide these essential connections and support.
Doulas are skilled in caring for mothers, partners, and families as they welcome a new baby into their lives. They advocate for the mother by providing information and explanations, and building a bridge of communication within the birth team. A doula's reassuring presence helps a woman confidently begin her role as a mother.

Birth is possibly the most intimate experience a family can have. My role as a doula is to elevate that experience to a place of tranquility, providing space for a mother's self confidence to emerge. With faith in herself, the new chapter is created with love and strength in her family. As a doula, I care for mothers and families in non-clinical ways, giving uninterrupted comfort and encouragement. I foster an environment that prioritizes parents' birth preferences. I will support and respect your decisions, and help you achieve an empowered birth experience.
